Address Janesville's image
Address our diversity issues (minority internships, Boys & Girls Club, bridge gap w/ Beloit, etc.)
Allow people to have time off to volunteer in the community
Ask community leaders to step up
Attract high-end businesses and dining opportunities
Attract new restaurants (fine dining)
Boost morale in the community
Build a convention center/sports complex/fairgrounds (could be on the GM site)
Build a veterans' rehabilitation center
Build capacity in non-profit sector (strong non-profits = high quality of life)
Build ethnic diversity in community
Build on Janesville pride through banners, commercials, etc.
Change Janesville's image as a low-class, blue-collar community
Change perception that we have a high quality of life w/ high taxes
Come up with a new slogan for Janesville that creates more interest
Communicate with service clubs, churches, & civic orgs (United Way, etc.) about City projects
Continue Leadership Development Academy
Continue to support City jewels (Tallman House, Rotary Gardens, etc.)
Create a farm produce co-op
Create an incentive program for community & volunteer involvement
Cultivate & promote more family attractions
Decrease the number of blighted buildings in the City
Develop a childrens' museum in Janesville
Develop more shopping opportunities
Draw a minor league athletic team
Encourage citizens to buy locally
