The Woodman's Sports and Convention Center (WSCC) is a significant economic development project with a broad community impact. With the annual economic impact of the WSCC projected to be $23 million, it will serve our local communities while making Janesville - and Rock County - a destination for regional and national visitors.
At 130,000 square feet, the Woodman's Center will attract sports teams, regional and national companies, and organizations for meetings, conferences and trade shows. The facility will become a natural economic impact driver through job creation, revitalization and resource conservation while increasing property values and tax revenues. This project will provide the revenue boost local businesses seek and improve residents' quality of life by creating new activity and investment in Rock County and Wisconsin.
Updates on the WSCC project are presented at each Janesville City Council meeting. The City Countil meets every two weeks on Monday, with a few exceptions and special meetings during the year. The public is encouraged to attend the Council meetings and ask questions. To stay up to date on progress, check out the City of Janesville's website and www.woodmanscenter.com.
